Inca Jungle + Biking + Ziplining + Hotspring + Machu Picchu in Domes – 4D/3N
This hike is perfect for people who love trekking and adrenaline combined. ...
The Huchuy Qosco trek is a really enjoyable and not too challenging option that combines spectacular mountain views, original Inca trails, a community visit and a guided tour of the little-known Inca site of Huchuy Qosco, which is located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas . By getting off the beaten path, you get away from all the crowds of the better known treks, but still get to enjoy all the amazing things Peru has to offer. The Huchuy Qosco trek is perfect for those on a short time frame or looking for an easier hiking route.
Pick up from the hotel at 06:00 am, transfer to the archaeological site of Tambomachay, the hike will begin at this point and continue through puna landscapes and over the Soccllaccasa pass (4,020 m. / 13,186 ft.). We walk along a trail that leads to the Ccauca ravine, where we find archaeological remains and wild crops, such as tarwi, and a lot of cactus. We continue to the Queullococha pass (4,185 m. / 13,727 ft.), which surrounds the area with spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks of Veronica, Pitusiray and Chicon.
We walk along the Queullococha lake, where we can see huallatas, ducks and small fish and then climb to the Challu Challu pass (4,220 m. / 13,842 ft.). From this point, we observe the plains of Chinchero and the lagoons of Piuray and Qoricocha. Then we ascend to the fourth pass at Rumicruz (4,230 m. / 13,874 ft.). Then we head to the Inca rock quarry (4,220 m. / 13,842 ft.), which was the place where the rocks were extracted to build Huchuy Qosqo.
After breakfast, we leave at 07:00 am from our campsite to continue to Huchuy Qosqo. We will walk downhill to the Leon Punku canyon, where we find the remains of an Inca bridge and trail. This canyon has geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks that direct the river to Huchuy Qosqo (3,600 m. / 11,808 ft.).
Huchuy Qosqo is an Inca archaeological complex with an imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center, from which we enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River. After the explanation, we start walking for about two hours to the next point (4,200 m. / 13,776 ft.), descending for about 2 hours until we reach Taucca, where we have lunch place, from here we take our private transports back to Cusco to your hotel.
