It is a perfect option for adventure and nature lovers who want to combine exciting activities with a visit to one of the most iconic destinations in the world: Machu Picchu. We pick you up from your hotel around 7:30 am and travel by bus for approx. 4 hours to San Luis, where we will start our bike tour for approx. 2 to 2:30 minutes, we are enjoying beautiful landscapes of these mountains and along we will see many beautiful landscapes typical of the cloud forest on the Inca jungle trail, our bike tour will last approx. 3 hours until we arrive to Santa Maria, where we will have lunch and then we will travel for 30 minutes more to Quillabamba where we will start our challenging canoeing tour in the river for approx. 1:30 minutes, this way we will arrive to Santa Maria where we will spend the night in a lodge.
We will begin the 7 to 8 hour hike approx. between the ascents and descents that cross on the way, then, we will walk along the perfectly preserved Inca trail. Parrots are among the animals that inhabit this area, monkeys of different varieties and there is also a great variety of flora. Already in the afternoon we will arrive at the thermal-medicinal waters of Santa Teresa, to take a good bath and finally we will arrive to Santa Teresa where we will spend the night in a hostel.
We will wake up very early and after breakfast we will enjoy the zip line. We will continue with our tour to Machu Picchu, this day we will walk along the road crossing the Urubamba River by a cable car, then we will walk approx. 2 hours until we reach a point where the hydroelectric plant where we will have lunch and then walk for 2 hours more by the railroad until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in a hostel.
We get up early in the morning around 4 am. to have breakfast and leave for Machu Picchu which takes 1:30 minutes walking, but there is another option to take the first bus that leaves at 5:30 am. to Machu Picchu (takes 25 minutes) to appreciate the magnificent city as the sun rises.
Your guide will give you a 2-hour tour and then you can explore the mysterious city on your own. If you still have energy, you can also climb Huayna Picchu (2,720m. / 8,890 ft.) It takes 1:45 minutes to reach the top (optional and check availability). Then you will take the train around 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm or 6:20 pm depending on the availability of the train, so you will arrive to Ollantaytambo after 2 hours of travel, so a private transportation will take you back to Cusco.
