Itinerary

Day 01

Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Our transfer will pick you up at 10:00 am. and take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo (1:30 minutes) the train leaves at 1:00 pm from Ollantaytambo After a 2 hour ride of majestic views, you arrive in Aguas Calientes (Hot springs town) where you will spend the night. There will be plenty of time to relax if you wish to take a hot bath in the natural springs.

Things to do
Visit the Machu Picchu museum “Manuel Chavez Ballon” and the orchid exhibition ($ 5 or 20 soles). It is open from 9 am to 4.30 pm and is a 30 minute walk down the road to Puente Ruinas. It is a very illustrative museum that offers an interesting introduction to Machu Picchu.

Day 02

Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

After breakfast, your guide will put you on the first bus 6.00 am. or you can walk to Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour of approx. 2 to 2:30 minutes and then you will have enough time to explore the mysterious city on your own.

Things to do
You can climb Huayna Picchu (the mountain behind Machu Picchu). It takes 45 minutes to get to the top and the view from the top over Machu Picchu is worth it. (There is a limit of 400 people allowed to climb, so, if you want to do it, it is good to go immediately after your tour). From the top of this mountain you can also walk to the Temple of the Moon, it takes 45 minutes more to get there and, from there, another hour of walking to get back to Machu Picchu.
