This 5d/4n tour allows you to visit the Sandoval Lake,Native Community, Mamals Clay Lick, Macaws Clay Lick, and experience the Zip Lining, Canopy Bridge,Canoing and Visiting the Monkey Island all in one tour.
We can operate this tour with a minimun of 2 paxs and as soon as you book this tour with us we are going to advertise this date as fixed departure date so More people can join your group and you can get a better price because our prices depend on the number of people you are going to be at the time of leaving for this tour.
We meet each other at the airport or at the bus station and transfer to our office in Puerto Maldonado for registrations.
We transport to the Madre de Dios River Harbor where our boat will take us up river for an hour trip towards (Monte Amazon Lodge) A great welcoming with a delicious typical fruit juice will wait for you upon your arrival to the lodge after that we are going to show the facilities of our bungalows and then you can set your selves in your private rooms
After a while, you will have a first walk into the jungle to observe some wild life and nature, guided by skilled and experienced local guides who will take you through our trails and you can see some trees that may have more than five hundred years, so you can see some animals like toucans, orioles, trogons, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc.. You will have the opportunity to experience the magic of our forest that is next to the Tambopata National Reserve (278,000 hectares protected).
After lunch, we will go to the monkey island, located in front of our lodge across the Madre de Dios River and we look for the family of capuchin monkeys who live on this island, after that we will come back to the Lodge
In the evening we will go to look for white alligators, along the Madre de Dios river with flashlights and we can also see Capybaras the largest rodent in the world weighing up to 60 kilos, back to the lodge, dinner and pass the night is our confortable lodge.
After breakfast, we walk for 3 km and head towards the lake Sandoval (habitat of the Giant River Otter) , and we paddle in canoe and appreciate many kinds of monkeys (howler monkey, squirrel monkey , capuchin brown, tamarinds) and different species of Birds(Hoatzin cormorant Jacanas, tiger heron, vultures) and sloth bear. Maybe we will meet with the family of giant otters (almost two meters long) which is endanger of extinction,we may see the largest alligators over 4 feet long registered in the lake , finally we return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch and afternoon enjoy the extraordinary spectacle of the sunset over the Madre de Dios River. Dinner and rest.
At 5:30 a.m. in the morning we do a short walk through the canopy walk-way, about 40 meters high, allowing us to have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River and allow us to observe different species of birds, such as, toucans, trogons, macaws, tanagers, orioles, etc.
Then we prepare for an activity challenges on trees over 30 meters high, for this activity we will have an instructor guide who will give us a talk on how to use the harness safety for the zip-line, feeling the adrenaline on trees, Return to the lodge.
After breakfast and we will come back to the city and then we will jump into our 4X4 for lunch. After a break we will walk to visit the wild board clay lick, finally we have dinner and rest.
Early in the morning we go to the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick. So we will see a great show of noisy parrots and macaws. which come to the lick to find minerals and salts with digestive properties in the clay wall, macaws and parrots like the dark blue head, chirricles, Maracan, blue and yellow macaw, red and green macaw and the scarlet macaw. In our way back to our lodge We may see alligators, turtles and capybaras, jaguar , tapir along the Tambopata River, lunch at the lodge and rest.
In the afternoon we fish for piranhas and other species of fish in the Tambopata River
Night walk, where you can see variety of insects (tarantulas, toads and frogs).
