A great chance to explore the Humantay lake and Salkantay pass knowing that you will be sleeping in a fantastic atmosphere and comfort that a Geodesic Dome can provide, full of luxury and good place to relax while you are experiences strenuous walks along the Humantay and Salkantay snowy mountains. What is more, we will do a ceviche show for you so you can learn how to prepare this delicious Peruvian national dish.
Very early in the morning, your mountain guide and our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. The first stop will be in Mollepata to have breakfast, then we will continue our route to Challacancha for a short rest, from this point we will begin our trek to Soraypampa. In this first opportunity, we will initiate a physical challenge that will help you acclimatize to the altitude.
We will arrive at our destination, the Domos camp, which has private bathrooms and hot showers, located in front of the majestic and snowy Salkantay and Humantay, where the reception staff will be waiting for you with an exquisite lunch and then we will have some free time for us. . We will get ready to start a light walk towards the Humantay lagoon, located at 4,200 m.a.s.l.
Today is the big day, because we will reach the highest point of the trek where you will cross wonderful landscapes bordered by a large complex of mountains, and we will gradually ascend a path known as “The path of the 7 snakes”, until we reach the impressive Abra Salkantay at 4,638 m.a.s.l. 15,213 feet. Time really freezes when you think you will tell a unique and unforgettable experience.After enjoying a view of the snow-capped mountains and feeling the force of nature, we will cross a large rocky landscape and descend to a place called Soyrococha. After descending towards Soraypampa and in the distance, we will have a remote view of the great snowy stone forest. The effort is rewarding because we will take with us the memory of a great experience. We will continue with our final steps towards the luxury domes camp where we will have our delicious lunch. Finally, transportation to Cusco will be waiting and we will arrive at 6 pm approx.
